The short answer in 30 seconds

The Red-White-Red Card (Rot-Weiß-Rot-Karte) is the most important route for skilled workers from third countries. It is a residence permit and a work permit in one. But there are several variants, and each has its own rules. Our founders came to Austria themselves, one as a student and one as a refugee. We know the official procedures. Here we explain everything in plain language.

Who is this route for?

This route is for people from countries outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. It fits if you want to work in Austria. In most cases you need a concrete job offer. The exceptions are the variants for self-employed people and start-up founders.

Very Highly Qualified Workers A job that matches your qualification, with adequate pay min. 70
